We offer religious education classes for public school students in grades 1 - 8. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 6:45 – 8:00 pm. Generally, classes begin the Monday after Labor Day in September, and end the first Monday in May. The yearly schedule is mailed to registered families in late August.
The sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion are celebrated in the 2nd grade; and Confirmation is celebrated in the 8th grade. Students must successfully complete all prior grade levels before they will be accepted into a sacrament grade level class.
Yearly tuition for the PSR program is $70 per child if registration is received on or before May 31st, and $90 per child after May 31st. All registrations should be returned to the parish office no later than August 15th.
Payment of tuition is expected to be rendered with the registration form. Tuition waivers and discounts are available for parents who volunteer as teachers and teacher’s aides in the PSR program. However, no child will be denied a religious education due to a lack of payment. If you are unable to volunteer in the program and need tuition assistance, please contact the parish office.
All PSR volunteers must be Catholic, attend mass regularly, and follow the laws of the church in their daily lives. They must also be committed to preparing and following the established religious curriculum and lesson plans.
PSR teachers and aides are encouraged to attend the spiritual formation classes for catechist certification offered by the Archdiocese.
The Archdiocese requires all adult PSR volunteers (over age 18) to be fingerprinted and to attend a Child Protection Decree Orientation Class.
