PARISH COUNCIL
Elections are held in the first and second weekends in May.
Please consider Parish Council as a way to get involved in the
St. Jude community. Any questions or to submit your name for the
elections in May, call Parish Council President Rob Reid @ 598-9753 or
email Rob @ rob.reid@dinslaw.com.
Parish Council meetings are held the last Monday of each month
in the new Parish Center at 7:30p.m. There is no meeting in July or December.
Monthly meetings are open to ALL PARISHIONERS as observers.
Mission Statement
The St. Jude Parish Council's mission is to "be an informational,
consultative group of parishioners that represent the parish community."
The primary concerns of the Council "will be the spiritual
well-being of the parish community, communications throughout the
parish community, and providing the pastor with parish resources.
The Parish Council is not a governing body, but a group of parishioners
whose responsibility it is:
- To
share, in a consultative manner only, in the decision-making of
the parish, and assist in implementation of these decisions.
- To
determine priorities in the parish according to its needs.
- To
represent all the people of St. Jude Parish.
- To
provide for communication, coordination, and cooperation among
parish organizations.
Although the Council is not a governing body, it is a forum for communicationg and addressing
parish-wide and individual needs. In the current Council structure, it is the role of the
Members-At-Large to perform this task on behalf of the general parish membership. Members-At-Large
do not represent any particular geographic area within the parish; all MAL's represent the entire
parish equally.
If you have an issue, concern, or need you feel is important, and, in your opinion, is not being
fully addressed by an organization, the Administration, or the parish-at-large, we encourage you to
contact one or more of the Members-At-Large. (It does not matter which MAL you contact.) At least,
identify your issue to the Council so your voice can be heard. Two avenues then exist for further
discussion. One, the Member-At-Large, your representative, can communicate your issue to the
Council at the next meeting. Discussion will be held, and the MAL will let you know the outcome of
that discussion. Two, if you prefer, the MAL can contact you to advise the meeting at which your
topic will be discussed. You would then be invited to attend that meeting to provide specifics,
contribute to the discussion (rather than just observe). In this way you can be sure your topic will
be adequately explained to the Council.
We encourage you to make your needs known to those able to address those needs. All Council member
names and phone numbers are in The Bridge including Members-At-Large.
