St Jude Boy Scout Troop 871 is for young men aged 11 through 17 years of age. Your son does not have to be a student at St. Jude School to be one of our scouts. High school students can attend any high school in the area. The troop meets on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 in the school cafeteria. Members are expected to wear the official Boy Scout uniform (shirt and pants) to all meetings.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America and Troop 871 is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Our program teaches many traits that youth will experience in their lifetime, from the basics of First Aid/CPR and knot tying to business planning, computer basics and life skills. He will enjoy the basics of camping, canoeing, and high adventure programs as a method of sharing our experiences.
Boy Scout Troop 871 has been part of St. Jude Parish since 1960.
